About the Webinar

Centre for Civil Society in association with Students for Liberty South Asia is organising a Webinar eBaithak on “Market Responses to COVID-19 Pandemic”

Webinar Date and Time: Sunday, April 12th,  6:30 – 8:00 pm IST onwards.

The COVID-19 pandemic has opened a Pandora’s box when it comes to increasing Government interference in the economy like anti-price gouging laws, ban on exports etc. However, Markets have been at the forefront to bridge the gap between Government efforts and consumer demands. On the innovation front, private players and entrepreneurs have come up with cheaper testing kits and consumer products that are a necessity.

In this eBaithak on Market Responses to COVID-19 Pandemic, with Yazad Jal, Director of CCS Academy – we will understand the important but often unnoticed role of markets in responding to pandemics like COVID-19.  eBaithaks are essentially free-flowing discussions with a Speaker and on a specific topic. They take place on a virtual platform, (currently Zoom) and are different from monologues webinars. eBaithaks are more interactive, interpersonal and liberal spaces of discussion and deliberation.
